I know how you feel. I receive hundreds of emails each week with different yet similar stories. I tried to create a forum to help vent your thoughts but I feel many do not want to spend the time to register ... I encourage you to do so. For those of you who simply want to voice your situation anonymously, this is it!:)

The main problem I have now is that I had lost a baby tooth and the adult tooth never had room to come-in back when I was little. Now it's giving me problems and I can't afford to pay all the money up front to get it fixed and plus in September I'm going home to visit my family, which I haven't seen in 2 years because things keep coming up for me not to go. None of my family can help me cause they don't have extra money to give me so I can come see them or help me with my dental work. I'm to the point I'm fustrated and hurting!!! I have a few problems with my teeth, one of them, I would need a dentist with a modern approach to dentistry. I have a problem with one tooth where a dentist had offered his technique which would help with some decay on the tooth. Right now I would need a tooth smoothed using a drill to get some of the decay off. I know it will not work completely, the tooth is very sensitive and probably would not round out perfectly, because the area that needs to be repaired is flat because of the decay that has set in. I also have a problem with a cracked tooth that has been that way since childhood. I would need cosmetic procedures done; but can't really afford it right now. He had dental insurance and fixed his teeth but when it came to the kids and I...just the basic in dental care was allowed (cleanings, fillings). Well, I had to have a root canal but it was to expensive, it was cheaper to have the tooth extracted, so that is what happened. This happened to be a front tooth and the 2 teeth next to where that tooth was are now crooked. I have spoke with several dentist getting quotes and trying to make arrangements for payments, but I still can not afford the initial $300.00 down payment. Since I've been laid off from both of my jobs(due to budget cuts), I can't even afford payment arrangements now. Which brings me to the next issue: I am trying to get a job and have had several interviews, I have even gone back for second and third interviews then did not get hired. I have 15 years experience in the healthcare field and am currently in school to enhance the skills I have. I need a job to get dental insurance to get my teeth fixed...I need my teeth fixed to get a job. See the problem? Appearance means a lot when you go for a job interview, as soon as I smile I see the facial expression of the person interviewing me and pretty much know at that point, that know matter how much experience I have, I wont be hired due to my teeth/or lack there of. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to make a better life for my children and myself...Having my teeth fixed would improve my chances of getting a job greatly. When he was a young boy he was playing,fell, and broke his very front tooth and had to have a post and fake tooth. He is now 26 and that one tooth fell out. He hasn't smiled like he should for the longest time. And to be honest he has a beautiful smile. He does everything for everyone else, you call on him and he will be right there. He has given me everything that I have, I wouldn't be where I am at or who I am today without this wonderful man in my life. We just can't afford the dental work he needs. SCREEN NAME: Ronald Warmoth I'm 21 with no dental insurance and my teeth look like i was repeatedly hit in the face wit a truck. quite honestly i didn't start taking care of my teeth until i was 14 and by then when i started brushing, flossing, etc. it just caused my teeth to chip/break continuously over the years. the one time i thought i might have found a dentist that would help me all he did was criticize me i cant handle that. every tooth in my mouth is at least chipped and rotting by the day, my 2 fronts on top are broken off and rotten as well as both of the teeth next to them on both sides. I'm only 21 not only is it a major blow to the confidence not being able to smile in front of my friends , or humiliating meeting new people but there hasn't been a day in over 3 years that my teeth haven't been swollen and throbbing! | |

I need surgery for a tooth that got infected after I already spent to have a root canal and crown on it, its giving me pain, I lost 5 or 6 teeth through the years and I am only 25. My front left canine tooth is in serious need of a root canal and crown and I only have one molar on the bottom of my mouth making it difficult to eat and I am in need of implants. I feel socially embarrassed and less than because of my teeth. When I smile I look bad in pictures. I have a bad relationship with my parents due to my needs and really im tired of going to them for help, even though i had most of my problems before I was 18, the expiration date that your parents are no longer responsible for you. I am in need of at least 3 root canals, and a dozen or more fillings. Every molar in the back of my mouth is broken in half, I cannot eat solid foods without pain anymore. Just this year alone I have lost weight because of my inability to chew. I have severe depression, anxiety, and low self esteem from my teeth. I am without a doubt, in dire need of money. I have dental insurance through work, but I do not make enough per week to pay out of pocket costs. Please help.
